HOW ACCURATE IS YOUR TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE?

by Dr. Ken Matto

What kind of a question is that? Of course my translation is the most accurate and up to date. It is also recommended by scholars and my pastor uses it. It is translated from the oldest and best Greek manuscripts and although the Hebrew contains variant readings, I am assured that my translation is of the highest quality.

That is probably the most common response I receive (besides "shut up and mind your own business") whenever I pose the question to anyone who uses the modern translations. In fact till 1986 I used the New American Standard Version (NASV) until I overheard two senior saints discussing the corruption in the modern versions. I thought to myself, not my Bible, it is a good translation, so I did nothing at that point.

It was then in May 1986 when I was browsing the tract rack in a local Christian bookstore and saw a tract entitled, "The Attack" by Chick publications. Since I like to read new articles I purchased it along with others. It peaked my curiosity as I read the pages. The subject covered was the corruption in the modern versions. The tract contained two verses which I checked out instantly. They are Luke 2:33 and 1 John 5:7.

The tract claimed that Luke 2:33 exchanged the word "father" for "Joseph" in reference to the birth of Christ. I looked it up and they were right! The Holy Spirit opened my spiritual understanding immediately, if Joseph was the father of Jesus, then there is no virgin birth and this would mean Jesus had sin and that would mean He was an unfit, sin-tainted sacrifice. In other words, we would still be in our sins.

In the King James Version (KJV) the phrase was written correctly, "Joseph and his mother." This does not imply in any way that Joseph was the biological father of Jesus. Now armed with this information which gnawed at me, I wrote to Dr. David Otis Fuller who is now home with the Lord, concerning the matter of the new versions. We had much communication on the matter of corrupt bibles.

Of course, I had believed the KJV was antiquated in its language and was not suitable for usage today. So I purchased a New King James Version (NKJV). I thought this was an excellent version till I read an article written by Dr. M. H. Reynolds on the errors contained in the NKJV. I purchased the book by Gail Riplinger entitled, "New Age Bible Versions" which is a must read for any serious student of Scripture. This book exposed the corruption in the new versions on a level I have never seen before.  Dr. Riplinger tears through the rhetoric of modern bible versions and their creators without apology.

So what was I to do at this point? I could not use a modern version because of the corruption and I couldn’t use a NKJV because there were serious problems with that version too. So I grit my teeth and purchased a KJV wide margin and I have been blessed ever since. Since my initial shock in 1986 I have investigated this subject progressively, while I am not a language expert, I have uncovered serious doctrinal attacks, covert phrases, omissions, additions, lies of scholars who defend these versions, esoteric new Age phrases (thanks to Gail Riplinger) and the thread which runs through these versions, is that we can never know that we truly have God’s Word since all manuscripts and versions contain error.

What would be the foundational strength of Christianity if the Bible was erroneous? If one verse should be left out, how do we know other verses should not be left out? What is our authority if we have a bible which is always under attack by phrases such as, "not in the oldest and best manuscripts?" Does God determine what is to be in the Bible or does man set himself up as the judge of Scripture? Who gave man the authority to determine what should be placed in the bible and what should not be there? In the subject of bibles, man arrogates to himself assumed authority, not delegated authority.

This monograph is designed to allow the reader to expand their mind on this subject. It is time for the believer to begin to check things out to see if they are true before accepting them. It contains fifty verses which we will investigate to see the ramifications of the great differences between the King James Version and the modern versions by visible means. It is my hope that you, the reader, will check out these verses to see if what I am writing is absolutely true.

For those who wish to pursue further studies in this area, I will include a suggested reading list and organizations which deal much more deeply with this subject than we could possibly go into in this composition.

The basic question which must be answered in our minds is, "how many bibles did God write?" Since the time of the Greek Vulgate edition of the bible (90-150 AD) there have been hundreds of versions, from Origen's Hexapla to the Cotton Patch version, from Tatian’s Diatesseron to the New International version. Every translation is different which leads us to believe that more than one bible exists. This particular aspect of it is best discussed by purchasing from the suggested reading list for deeper insight.

The format for our study will be simple. The verse from the KJV will be typed and the part which is bold and underlined is the part which has been corrupted or omitted. I would type the verses from the new versions alongside the KJV verse but I would have to ask permission from the publishers if I could quote from "their books." The KJV cannot be copyrighted because it is the Word of God, yet all the modern versions are copyrighted. Could this mean they are man’s word and not God’s? Think about it! THINK ABOUT IT!!! Well, let us begin our study without further ado.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Mat 6:33 KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

By omitting "of God" the verse allows one to seek the kingdom of their choice. By removing the definite identification of the kingdom we are to seek, it keeps a person in spiritual darkness for how do they know what kingdom to seek?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Mat 8:29 KJV) And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

The new versions have left out the proper name, "Jesus." What this does is takes away from the definite identity of who the Son of God is. A person of a false religion could easily distort the true meaning of this verse by making a nebulous reference to a leader of their religion.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Mark 9:44, 46, 48 KJV) Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

These three verses are identical and warn of the awfulness of Hell. This verse is either omitted or in brackets in the new versions. What kind of a bible would not want to inform us of the serious nature of eternal damnation. Only Satan would attempt to neutralize the terrible reality of Hell. The liberal church has swallowed the "there is no Hell" lie.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Mark 16:9-20 KJV) Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. {10} And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. {11} And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. {12} After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. {13} And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. {14} Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. {15} And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. {16} He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. {17} And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; {18} They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. {19} So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. {20} And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

This part of Scripture has been challenged by the school of modern criticism. They claim it is not in the oldest and best manuscripts. The two manuscripts that modern theologians tout as their crowning glory are the Vaticanus and the Sinaiticus. The Vaticanus was discovered in the Vatican Library in 1481 and was totally rejected by the KJV translators in 1604-11 because of its impurities.

The Sinaiticus was found in St. Catherine's monastery at the foot of Mt. Sinai in 1844 by Constantine Tischendorf. It was in a garbage can ready to be burned. It too was very corrupt and contained omissions, additions, and deletions to the 7th century. The monks saw it as junk and only good enough to keep the fires going at the monastery. Yet, Tischendorf saved it from the fire and translated it and became the second of "the oldest and best manuscripts" which are the foundation of every modern version except the King James Version. Leave it to modern scholarship to find their crowning achievement in a garbage can.

Returning to Mark 16:9-20, the fact remains is that it is absent from these two corrupt manuscripts by design not because of age. It is in 618 extant manuscripts which means the evidence is 618 to 2. God preserved His Word. Find a modern version in an "anything for a buck" Christian bookstore and you will see the attacks on this secure part of Scripture. Even the New King James Version in the center column states Mark 16:19-20 is absent from Vaticanus and Sinaiticus yet present in all other manuscripts of Mark. The NIV claims that the earliest reliable manuscripts do not have Mark 16:9-20. The NASV claims they are not in the oldest manuscripts either.

The hilarity of it all is that these reliable manuscripts were nothing more than a dust collector in the Vatican and garbage fit only for a fire.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Luke 2:33 KJV) And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

The new versions change Joseph to father. By doing this, the modern versions deny the virgin birth. Joseph was His guardian not His biological father. If he was, then Jesus would have inherited the nature of Adam which would have made Him a sin-tainted sacrifice. In other words, there would be no salvation for anyone since the Lamb was spotted.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Luke 4:4 KJV) And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Here a vital admonition to all the human race is eliminated from the modern versions. If we do not live by the Word of God, then whose words are we to live by. This verse is key to the life of every believer. For it is the Word of God where we receive our instruction for life, not out of some teacher or priest.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(John 6:47 KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Here is another definite object removed. If we take away "on me" then the question may be raised, "believe on what?" This corrupted verse could be used by any false religion to get adherents to believe the leaders or whomever they choose. All one has to do is "believe," but believing in what is left to the individual.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(John 16:16 KJV) A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

Here is another example of denying the intimate relationship the Lord Jesus Christ has with God the Father. This verse tells us that after God’s salvation plan is completed, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to heaven and sit on the right hand of God the Father. (Matthew 26:64; Luke 22:69) The essence of the verse is chopped away when that portion is deleted because Christ returned to the Father. He then began His intercessory ministry and management of the church. It is also important to note that many new age advocates believe Jesus went to other countries rather than to Heaven.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Acts 2:30 KJV) Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Here we see a prophecy of the Old Testament being negated. By leaving out this portion it denies us the understanding that Christ was the one whom God was going to set upon the throne of Israel. This is not speaking of physical Israel, but spiritual Israel which is the church. As David sat on the throne of national Israel, Christ sits on the throne of the Israel of God.

The Lord Jesus Christ was in the Davidic line, therefore the prophecy of a king was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. By removing the fact He came in the flesh and that He was resurrected bodily, fulfills new age and cultic teaching that Christ was raised spiritually and not physically. This is a horrendous attack on true Bible teaching.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Acts 7:37 KJV) This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

This was a prophecy relating to the fact that when the Lord Jesus Christ would come on the scene, we would be taking our instruction from Him and not Moses. (Heb. 1:1-2) In Christ was grace for salvation and the keeping of the law was no longer required since Christ fulfilled the requirements of the law and became the new covenant in contrast to Moses being representative of the old covenant.

False teachers and preachers love nothing more than to keep their people in bondage to their teachings. This way their power base is constant. Roman Catholicism along with other cults are based on this method.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rom 1:16 KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Here is another example of omitting the identification of which gospel. With "of Christ" omitted it leaves one open to pick which gospel they are not ashamed of. The true gospel is of Christ. There are many false gospels in the world today and this verse allows someone to choose according to their own desire. Will they pick the prosperity gospel, the signs and wonders gospel, or any other one which tickles the ear while keeping them in darkness? This is a serious attack on true biblical Christianity.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rom 8:1 KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The perversion done to this verse is immense. It states there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. There are many false religions plus dead ritualistic churches who believe and teach their people that since they adhere to a few rituals or are on a membership role means they are automatically in Christ.

However, the part of the verse which is stricken deals with the fact that true salvation is on the spiritual level. The walking after (according to) the flesh will never get us saved (ritual, ceremony, repetitive prayers, etc.) because salvation occurs in our spirit, not our body. Many of those who belong to false churches normally live a life of sin while becoming officially religious when they walk into church or confession.

The aborted part also deals with how we may know the difference between a true and false believer. The true believer walks according to the spirit while the false believer becomes entwined with church dogma and ritual. All the outward rituals will never change a person inwardly enough to merit Heaven by works. Countless millions are being lied to that God will weigh the good works against the bad. The only thing God will look at is are you born again by the spirit and have renounced the things of the flesh. Leaving the last part of this verse out leaves only false hope. That part also refutes the doctrine of carnal Christianity. If a person is carnal, it means they are walking according to the flesh, in other words, they are walking in ways which please the world. This is enmity with God. No true Christian will ever intentionally walk with the world. If they do, they have probably never become saved and are, no doubt, a victim of false teaching.

True Christians walk according to the spirit, not the fleshly ways of the world which brings the condemnation that true Christians will never face. This is not to say that true Christians will never fall into sin or commit an intentional sinful act but that is the exception not the rule. Even though we are saved, we still have bodies which lust after sin. This happens because our bodies are so closely linked to this world, but our spirit has been resurrected from the dead as we read in Ephesians 2:1-3. Having a resurrected soul allows us to have a progressive disdain for sin as we grow in the faith. Ritualistic people continue in the same ways they have always behaved because they do not possess the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives to war against sin and its desires. This is the whole substance or Romans 7.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Cor 7:39 KJV) The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

This part of the verse shows the element which binds the husband and wife together, to wit, the law of God which is the whole Bible. Without a proper understanding that the earthly marriage relationship represents the relationship between Christ and the church, marriage would become a total devastation, like it almost is in many churches.

Since we are bound to Christ eternally, we will never face the fact that our husband will ever die and that we must be married to another. Our relationship with Christ is forever and can never be broken, either by death or divorce. Without the law of God being a cohesive factor in any part of a Christian’s life, there would only be chaos and confusion and then, no doubt, we would have to rely on ecclesiastical authority. You see what condition that has left the church in.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Cor 15:47 KJV) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Here is another attack on the lordship of Christ. By removing "the Lord" it totally erases the identification of the man from heaven who is the Lord Jesus Christ. One can, again, pick and choose who they would like to fill this spot. A guru, pope, cult leader et al.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Cor 4:6 KJV) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

By removing "Jesus" we see another attack on the direct identification of who the Christ is. There are many in the new age movement who claim we can have the Christ spirit. By removing the name of Jesus, any new age guru can claim they are a reflection of the glory of God as so many of them do. Why remove the name of Jesus? What does it accomplish? Nothing, it just causes confusion in the body of Christ and it is nothing but a blatant attack on the Lord Jesus.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Cor 4:10 KJV) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Here is another attack on the deity of Christ. You are probably noticing by now that the new versions have a strong inclination to destroy the heavenly character of the Lord Jesus. After all, Satan wanted to be like the Most High. If the Lord Jesus Christ can be brought down to a lower position, then Satan could exalt himself. This is why Satan and his band of modern scholars hate the King James Version.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Gal 3:17 KJV) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

This omission is a serious one in that the uniqueness of Christ in the covenants and promises of God are removed. By removing Christ, it seems one can partake of the promises and covenants of God without being in Christ AKA born again. Christ is the Great I AM of Sinai and this omission in this verse tends to remove all such knowledge of Him in that setting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Gal 4:7 KJV) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Removal of this portion allows anyone to believe they can become an heir of God. The truth of this verse is removed because a person can only become an heir of God through Christ. This is borne out in verses like Romans 8:17. No one can come to the Father except through the Lord Jesus Christ. One can only be a son of God if one is in Christ.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Eph 3:9 KJV) And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

This omission is an attack on the Lord Jesus Christ in His role as creator. Colossians 1:16 and Genesis 1:26 speak of plurality of Deity in One creating the world, the universe, and mankind. It attacks the deity of Christ.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Eph 3:14 KJV) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

This omission attacks the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God. By omitting that portion of Scripture, the devil’s scholars set up the false of the universal fatherhood of God in regards to a false salvation program. If God is specifically called the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, then it follows that those who are in Christ can rightly call Him Father.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Phil 3:16 KJV) Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

This Scripture admonishes us to walk circumspectly in our Christian walk. The omitted part deals with the fact that we are to have the mind of Christ. We must be like-minded in the affairs of our Christian walk. There are so many who want unity among Christians, so instead of uniting ungodly dogma and liturgy, we should be united in Christ in a single purpose. We need to have unity of obedience to Christ. Of course, only those who are saved can ever be like-minded toward the things of Christ. The unsaved will attempt unity at any cost regardless of religion.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Phil 4:13 KJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

In the modern per-versions "Christ" is changed to "Him." This allows anyone to plug the god of their choice in. Christ said we can do nothing without Him. (John 15:5) This verse is no comfort to the true Christian in its perverted form because only in Christ do we find the strength to endure this life.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Col 1:14 KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

This is an attack on the doctrine of the atonement. When you omit the blood out of this verse, you omit the vehicle by which God forgives sin. The Old Testament is replete with descriptions of animal sacrifices which always mentions blood. They were a foreshadow of the final sacrifice, Christ Himself, who would shed his blood for the sins of His people. Remove the blood and you have no atonement, it is as simple as that.

Of course there are churches and theologians down through the ages who have attacked the blood sacrifice for sin. One denomination believes that it is through their rituals and priests that salvation and forgiveness of sin may be obtained. So it makes sense for them to rip the atoning blood of Christ out of Scripture since they believe they can grant salvation and atonement.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Col 3:6 KJV) For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

This verse chops away the information concerning who will receive the wrath of God. Those who pervert the Scriptures are definitely the children of disobedience and by removing this declaration, they may believe they will escape the same fate as the other unbelievers. Religious folk refuse to believe they are disobedient.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Th 1:1 KJV) Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The attack on the Lord Jesus Christ is bad enough, now they leave out God the Father who is the source of peace. Grace and peace are two biblical doctrines concerning salvation. Because of God’s grace we may have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1; Eph. 2:14-15) Grace and peace are both theological synonyms for salvation. To omit the source is to omit the origin and completion of the salvation plan.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Th 3:13 KJV) To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

This verse has a double ax put to it. First, they leave out "Christ" denying the complete title of the Lord Jesus Christ. The second shot is they change "God, even our Father" to God and Father." On the surface it does not look problematic but let us analyze it.

When the words "even our" are omitted, it enforces the doctrine of universal fatherhood of God. By leaving the words in, they rightly and biblically designated God as the Father of His children which are those who are in Christ. People in dead religion are not fathered by God. Christ railed on the false religious leaders of Judaism as being children of the devil. (John 8:41-47) Let us expand that truth, anyone not in Christ is a child of the devil and is under the wrath of God.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Th 1:2 KJV) Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Here is a similar situation. The new versions endorse the false teaching of the universal fatherhood of God by changing "our" to "the."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Th 1:8 KJV) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

This verse too received a double portion of the devil’s ax. The name "Christ" was deleted taking away half the name and title of the Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, "in flaming fire taking vengeance" has been replaced with a much softer "punish" or "retribution." Do you remember how Satan had his scholars remove mark 9: 44, 46, 48? He has diminished the severity of hell. I guess he and his scholars think by lessening the severity of it, some how God will reduce the penalty. WOE UNTO THEM!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Tim 3:16 KJV) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

The false versions change "God" to "He." They remove the deity, incarnation and direct identification of the Lord Jesus Christ. The pronoun "He" becomes subjected to the religious persuasion of the reader. This is a subtle yet open attack on the Lord Jesus Christ and His rightful position as second person of the trinity.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Tim 6:5 KJV) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

The new versions want us to associate with those who think gain is godliness. It sounds like the health and wealth gospel of today which is seriously void of solid biblical doctrine. When prosperity becomes the center stage of doctrine, it is time to leave, contrary to what the new versions tell us to do. If God is warning us to withdraw from the gainsayers, we better do just that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Tim 1:11 KJV) Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

The new versions omit the primary ministry of the Apostle Paul. He was the apostle to the Gentiles. Many in false religions and new age arrogate to themselves the three titles in this verse.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Tim 4:22 KJV) The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

If this isn’t a flagrant attack, I don’t know what is. The Lord who? Maitreya? Lord of the Flies? Lord and Taylor? Which Lord do we want to be with our spirit? Apparently the new versions leave it up to the individual, whether saved or not.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Titus 1:4 KJV) To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Here is another devaluation of the Lord Jesus Christ. The new versions continually attack the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 25 speaks of "God our Savior" and we know from that verse alone that Jesus is God and our Savior.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Phile 1:6 KJV) That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

I hope you are cognizant of the fact that a pattern is in place in the modern versions. The New Testament, which should openly tell us all about the Lord Jesus Christ, is cut up and quite eclectic in its dealing with the very subject of the New Testament, Christ Himself. Frankly, I would not trust a Bible which vilifies the very one it is supposed to glorify. As you can see by now, that only the King James Version. does not cut anything away or change words around. This is why I use it because of that very fact. It is not a tainted version.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Heb 1:3 KJV) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Two important items in this verse has been attacked. First, when they omit "by himself" they actually negate all the Old Testament foreshadows in the arena of sacrifices. All the sacrifices in the Old Testament were a foreshadow of the final sacrifice which Christ "himself" would perform for His people. Secondly, when "our" is omitted it neutralizes the verse. Christ came to save ‘His" people as we read in Matthew 1:21. He did not die for everyone in the world, if He did, they would all be saved.

Christ himself died for the sins of His people. No one else became our sacrifice. This verse when chopped up can also teach a universal salvation since there is no focus on who Christ died for. Notice the writer uses the word "our" which means he is speaking of a certain group which he is a member of and that group is Christians. Christ died for no other group on earth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Heb 7:21 KJV) (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

The New Testament was ordained by God Himself in "by him." God made this an eternal priesthood not after the order of the Levitical priesthood which had an ending but the order of the Melchisedec priesthood which is perpetual in nature. When this verse omits these two vital elements, then an earthly priesthood could be established akin to the Roman Catholic Church which renounces the true biblical doctrine of the priesthood of all believers. This verse teaches that the priesthood of Christ is eternal by reason of the fact that He was the sacrifice and that God ordained His priesthood.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(James 1:9 KJV) Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

Some of the new translations change the word ‘rejoice" to "take pride." Isn’t pride in humans the very thing despises? Didn’t Satan fall because of pride? Yet, the new versions tell us to have pride which is diametrically opposed to the true teachings of Scripture.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(James 5:16 KJV) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The word "faults" in the new versions is changed to "sins" which endorses the Roman Catholic ritual of confession. The problem is that this verse tells us to confess to one another. Does the priest confess his sins to the other person in the confessional? I think not! The word that underlies "fault" in the Greek text is totally different from the word used for "sin."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Pet 1:22 KJV) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

"Through the spirit" has been removed which attacks the doctrine of the Holy Spirit and salvation. A person can only purify their souls when become born again and that soul is purified through the Holy Spirit. If we leave that phrase omitted, then it seems we can be purified through a system of works, whether church or personal. Obedience is a work and no one becomes purified through works.

The new versions change "pure heart" to "the heart." This also takes away an element of the doctrine of salvation. Remember the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus says that the pure in heart will see God. Here it seems the new versions teach that true biblical love can come from the heart without regeneration. Only those who have been saved will have a pure heart in the eyes of God.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 Pet 4:14 KJV) If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

The unbeliever vilifies the Lord Jesus Christ and we have seen much of this in this study alone. The unbeliever will never admit they are enemies of Christ nor will they admit the special relationship the believer has with Christ. Many religious unbelievers believe they are in right relationship with Christ. This is why they will never admit to their evil speaking of Christ because when you cloak blasphemy in religious terms it becomes acceptable. The Christian glorifies God while many religious people think they are glorifying God through their religion or church. Evil, whether blasphemy or religious, is still evil.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Pet 2:17 KJV) These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

If you were a Roman Catholic revising the Scriptures on hell, you would definitely leave out the eternal nature of it especially if you plan to sell an indulgence to the family member to get their loved one out of hell. The eternal nature of hell completely rebuffs the idea that one can get out of hell. The Bible is very clear on this subject. Of course if you disbelieved the Word of God enough to chop it up, then you would not care about its main teachings either.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2 Pet 3:9 KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The new versions change "us-ward" to "you." Again we see the new versions offering a universalistic approach. If someone has something for us, it is much different from for you. We are two different people. This verse speaks of God not willing that any of His elect will perish. To gain a true understanding of this verse, it must read in harmony with John 6:39. Salvation is totally out of our hands since it was completed before the foundations of the world as stated in Ephesians 1:4. Christ was the lamb slain before the foundations of the world. This verse does not proclaim an anytime, anywhere, I feel like getting saved gospel.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1 John 4:3 KJV) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The Gnostics believe that all material is evil and have therefore attacked the doctrine of the Incarnation. They believe if there is a God, He would not manifest Himself in the flesh. Those who teach these doctrines today are affirming Gnostic doctrine. This also proliferates the belief that Christ was only a spirit. This is especially important to the new age crowd who believe they can have "the Christ Spirit."

————————————————————————

(1 John 5:7-8 KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. {8} And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

These verses are chopped up in different ways in different versions. Some take part of verse 6 to make verse 7. These two verses are the heavenly and earthly witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why they are destroyed in the new versions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Jude 1:1 KJV) Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

The word "sanctified" is changed to "called" in the new versions. These are two totally different words in the Greek and the English. Sanctified means "set apart" while call means "summoned." A very big difference.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Jude 1:25 KJV) To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.

Wise is omitted from the new versions. I guess the creators of the new versions did not believe that God our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, was wise. Hebrews 13:8 states: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." One element of this verse is the wisdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is constant. This verse from Hebrews refutes this omission.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rev 1:11 KJV) Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Here is a complete denial of one of the most sacred titles of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the beginning and end. This is an attack on the deity of Christ again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rev 20:12 KJV) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The new versions change "God" to ‘throne." This is another attack on the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ since the Bible states that God has committed all judgment to the Son. The words "God" and "throne" are totally different words in the Greek which means it was an intentional switch. Those who do not believe in the judgment by Christ must expunge this reality from the rest of Scripture.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rev 21:24 KJV) And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Here is an omission which teaches that one need not be saved to enter the new heaven and new earth. The kings of the earth are believers not kings of physical realms. (Rev. 1:6) In the new heavens and new earth, there will be only one king and that will be the Lord Jesus Christ. This is an attack on the doctrine of salvation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I have marched you through 50 verses and we saw the massive corruption and doctrinal attacks in the new versions. It is my hope that you will purchase a new version and check these verses out for yourself. There is certain impact to the eyes when we see something for ourselves.

The attack on the true Scriptures did not just begin with the Revised Version of 1881 but started about the 2nd century when the Gnostic intellects began to mutilate the copies of the originals. These intellects are equal to those with higher degrees who attack the Scriptures under the guise of "Higher Criticism." With every new translation that hits the market, they become increasingly corrupt. Words must be continually changed if greedy publishers are going to get new copyrights on subsequent editions. There is no money to be made on the King James Version since it stays the same from printing to printing. AMEN!!! Here is a list of books and organizations.

I hope you have realized that new versions of the Bible are nothing more than attacks on the doctrines that you and I hold dearly plus are essential for our eternal salvation. Let us not allow unbelievers to dictate to us what we will believe. God has preserved His Word as He said He would and we do not need higher criticism to judge God. Trust me, God will judge them. Thank you for your patience. If you use a King James Version, refuse to switch. You have been armed and warned. What will you do, SLEEP OR ACT?

(Psa 12:6-7 KJV) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. {7} Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever
