- Affected Teaching
- Last week we saw a verse which played down the relationship between the
Lord Jesus Christ and His Father. This week’s verse shows how the
relationship between the Lord Jesus Christ and His children are downgraded.
In the text the word “
hmwn”
(hê mô n) is a personal pronoun in the Genitive case which means that the
child of God can legitimately claim the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal
Savior. However, the modern versions once again distance that relationship
as if we are introducing Christ as “the” Savior instead of “our” Savior. The
modern versions tend to distance relationships whether between God and the
Lord Jesus Christ or the Lord Jesus Christ and His children. This is why the
modern versions stink, because they take an eternal relationship and
distance it. This is why the King James Bible is superior because it
presents the relationships in their proper standing and does not make any
attempt to separate.
