Affected Teaching
The modern versions replace “Jesus” with “he” which is
just another attack on Christ. Here Jesus comes to His disciples in the midst of
a storm on the sea. The modern versions by replacing “sea” with “lake or water”
minimize the ferocity of the storm the disciples were facing. The sea of Galilee
was more than a lake or just water, it was a sea where storms could come up in a
moments notice. The Greek word for “sea” is “thalassa” which is translated “sea”
throughout the entire New Testament. The word “lake” is used 10 times in the New
Testament and is never translated from this word. The specific name of Jesus
also appears in the Greek text but was replaced in the critical text.
