Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to.

Affected Teaching

“God” is changed to “Christ”

 

The word in the Greek text is “theos” which is translated “God.”  The Hort-Westcott text changes it to “christos” which is translated “Christ.”  It was the Lord Jesus Christ who inspired His authors of the Bible and He was the one at Sinai who gave Moses the law.  By changing “God” to “Christ” what they are doing is removing the fact that Christ is God when He gave the words of Scripture.
