THE ROOTS OF CORRUPTION

by Dr. Ken Matto

A Scripture Comparison between the King James Version, the 1881 Revised Version, the 1901 American Standard Version, and the 1973 New International Version.

This study reveals the roots of corruption behind every modern version since 1881.

The title of this study is "The Roots of Corruption." The King James Version has been under consistent attack by the enemies of Christianity. It has been replaced in many churches by the New International Version, which has been included in this study to show you that it is a very bad translation and is a grandchild of the original 1881 Revised Version which was a replacement of the King James Manuscript.

THE manuscript behind the King James Version is the Masoretic Text, the 1524-25 Bromberg Edition of the Hebrew. The New Testament being the Received Text (Textus Receptus) which is the true Christ glorifying manuscript. The RV and the ASV and the 1973 NIV are based on the corrupted manuscripts known as the Sinaiticus which was discovered in a garbage can by Constantine Tischendorf in 1844 at St. Catherine's Convent at the foot of Mt. Sinai. This manuscript was a literary mess with mistakes, sentences superimposed on other sentences. Each page contains corrections and revisions by at least ten different people, and these additions were made as late as the 6th or 7th century.

THE second manuscript which is hailed by modern scholars is the Vaticanus which was discovered in the Vatican in 1481. This manuscript has the following omissions: 237 Words, 452 clauses, and 748 whole sentences. This manuscript was given to the King James Translators in 1604-11 but was rejected as useless because of all the omissions. However, modern scholarship lauds these manuscripts as the end of all accuracy. It is these two manuscripts which the footnotes in the modern bibles hail as, "The oldest and best manuscripts." In this study you will see first hand if they are the best.

THE King James Version became the uncompromising enemy of the Roman Catholic Church. Rome murdered many Christians simply because they owned copies of the true Bible. The Pope hated the KJV because it exposed many of the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church as false. Since the popularity of the King James Version was spreading, the Pope knew that trying to track down and destroy all manuscripts and English Bibles was impossible so the Pope employed two of Rome's best closet Catholics to raise a voice among the evangelical community that the language of the King James Version should be updated. The year was 1871.

Back then, as today, there were many non-thinking evangelical scholars who rallied around that cry from Hell. (I must insert Nikolai Lenin's assessment of Intellectuals, he called them, "Useful Idiots.") So in 1871 the Revision Committee was set in motion and was headed by two Roman Catholic adherents: Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort. These were two professors at Cambridge University who were loyal to Rome. Hort hated the manuscripts behind the King James Version as far back as 1847.

MANY Christians do not know they have been sold a bill of goods from Satan. The Revision committee met in secret for 10 years and instead of updating the language of the King James Version, their sole purpose was to create a new translation with the corrupted manuscripts which was the basis of Jerome's Vulgate of 400 AD. If one just simply asks the following question, it will get your mind working in the right direction, "If the Revised Version was just an update of archaic language, then why was it necessary to leave out so much of the text, in fact, why was it necessary to make over 36,000 changes to the New Testament?" The modern versions are a total lie and no Christian who uses or defends one of these Catholic Modern translations can ever claim they believe in Biblical Inerrancy since these modern versions are based fully on error.

IN 1881 the Revised Version was completed and although it was not that popular at that time, it became the underlying authority for every modern translation. In this study you will see the absolute agreement the NIV (1973) has with the Revised Version of 1881. Every error in the Revised Version is perpetuated in the 1901 American Standard Version and right on down to the NIV, which is the best selling version today.

IN this study you will have your eyes opened to the massive corruption in these versions. After the 50 verses is a commentary which states what doctrines or teachings are attacked by the omissions and rewording.

We will compare only 50 verses from the following versions:
