Affected Teaching
Jesus had promised that when He went back to Heaven, He would send the promise
of the Father which was the Holy Ghost. Peter is preaching to the crowd that
they are “now” seeing and hearing the fulfillment of that promise. They would
not hear or see it at some future time. Peter wanted to make sure that the crowd
knew that they were witnessing right now the fulfillment of the promise made by
Jesus that the Holy Spirit would come. This is why the word “now” is very
important.
