Affected Teaching
The words “submit yourself” is a verb in the
Imperative Mood making it a command and not a suggestion as in the CEB, CEV,
ERV. Just as we are to be in subjection to the Lord Jesus Christ, wives are
commanded to submit themselves to their own husbands. The ERV makes it a choice
when it uses the word “be willing” and there is no choice in the Greek, it is a
specific command.
