- Galatians 3:26-29
- Gal 3:26 (KJB)
- For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
-
- Now here is the end of the law for the believer. Every person who is
saved by grace alone is a true child of God. This verse negates the new age
belief that we are all children of God. We may be children in the sense that
we are all created by God but the true relationship to God with His true
children comes through the Lord Jesus Christ which is an eternal
relationship.
-
- Gal 3:27 (KJB)
- For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on
Christ.
-
- Put on - clothe oneself
-
- (Rom 6:3-4 KJV) Know ye not, that so many
of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
{4} Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we
also should walk in newness of life. The true
believer was baptized into the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus
Christ. This means we died with Him to the world and when we received our
new resurrected souls, we were now alive unto God and live in newness of
life which is the Christian life. This has nothing whatsoever to do with
water baptism. Water baptism does not have the effect of placing a sinner
into Christ and making them a new creation. Water baptism is only a symbol
in that we died with Christ and when we come out of the water it symbolizes
the resurrection unto new life. A person can only put on Christ when they
have become truly saved. The symbol here is that we put on the robes of
Christ’s righteousness which is covering us with salvation.
(Isa 61:3 KJV) To appoint unto them that mourn
in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called
trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be
glorified. In Isaiah 61:3 it is called the
“garment of praise.”
-
- Gal 3:28 (KJB)
- There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is
neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
-
- This verse shows the equality of every Christian at the foot of the
cross. One Christian may be president of a country or corporation and
another may be very poor but both have equal standing in Christ. This verse
is also used by the proponents of those who feel it is fine for a woman to
be a pastor or elder. This verse has nothing to do with that and those who
use it are just twisting Scripture to their own destruction. This verse has
only one thought in mind and that is the equality of all true believers.
This statement would not have held good with the Jews since they thought
they were the only children of God. Paul is making sure they know that true
salvation brings true equality to the true believers and there is no
political group on earth who holds more sway than any other in the Kingdom
of God.
-
- Gal 3:29 (KJB)
- And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs
according to the promise.
-
- Paul sums up this chapter with this statement that those who are born
again in Christ are the true seed of Abraham and will be heirs of all the
promises of God.
(Rom 8:17 KJV) And if
children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be
that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
The Jews who were pushing the law on people would not be
heirs because the promise came not through the keeping of the law but rather
it came through grace alone. Abraham became saved and believed God and it
was reckoned unto him as righteousness and in like manner we also are saved
an believe and because we believe we are heirs of the promise of salvation
by grace through the Lord Jesus Christ who was the promised one.
