Generosity

If there is one dynamic of the Christian walk it is generosity. This is not only speaking of money but the Christian walk in general. Freely we get, freely we give is what should be the guiding principle of the Christian walk. God is not concerned about money. Look who Jesus used as His treasurer. He is concerned about our attitude toward it. When the trump sounds, how many Christians are going to go up feet first?

The Tithe is only the Beginning
(Gen 28:22 KJV) And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

Giving is to be done willingly
(Exo 25:2 KJV) Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

Giving is to be done according to ability
(Deu 16:17 KJV) Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.

John Wesley Said:
Earn all you Can
Save all you Can
Give all you Can

Giving is to be done according to our zeal for the Gospel
(1 Chr 29:3 KJV) Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

Giving should be toward those that have need also
(Acts 4:34 KJV) Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

(1 John 3:17 KJV) But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Giving is Blessing to the Giver
(Acts 20:35 KJV) I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Giving is private between you and the Lord
(Mat 6:1 KJV) Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Giving brings Blessings according to God’s Will
(Prov 11:25 KJV) The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

(Prov 22:9 KJV) He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

(Mal 3:10 KJV) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Giving bountifully yields bountiful blessings
(2 Cor 9:6 KJV) But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Giving should be purposeful
(2 Cor 9:7 KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Giving is divinely multiplied
(2 Cor 9:10 KJV) Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

Giving should be done to yield thanksgiving to God and not ourselves
(2 Cor 9:11-12 KJV) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. {12} For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
