Affected Teaching
Here is another subtle attack on the power of the
blood of Christ. The King James uses the word “holiest” which is a reference to
the holy of holies in the tabernacle and temple. The word is an adjective and it
is in the genitive case. It is not a noun as the modern versions portray. A noun
names a person, place or thing. So they use the words “holy place” to translate
the word. The word “holy” would be the adjective modifying the noun “place.”
However, the word “place” is not in the text so they add it in the English. Plus
the holy place was outside the Holy of Holies. Basically, what the modern
versions are saying is that the blood of Christ was not sufficient enough to
bring us into the holy of holies which represents God the Father and that is
false doctrine. Those who are truly in Christ have access to God the Father.
That is the teaching of this verse that we are now qualified to enter into the
holy of holies or the presence of God the Father through the blood of Christ.
This is a very egregious error in the modern versions and they claim that no
doctrines are affected. Here is an attack on the doctrine of Christ, atonement,
and salvation all wrapped up in one modern version verse.
