- Affected Teaching
- In John 16:3, Jesus is making it very plain to the disciples that the
persecutions which He spoke about in verse 2, will happen to them.
(John 16:2 KJV) They shall put you out of the
synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that
he doeth God service. The modern versions make it
sound like these people will do these things in some type of random fashion
but the persecution will be aimed at the disciples and all followers of the
Lord Jesus Christ. This verse is a warning to all Christians throughout the
ages.
