Affected Teaching
Jesus is affirming to these people that their house is now left unto them desolate and that He is confirming to them by saying “verily” they shall not see Him until they actually accept Him by claiming Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.  In other words, they will be affirming the fact that He is the Messiah.  The Greek word behind “verily” is also the word for “amen” which means “finally, confirmed, or it is established.”  The modern versions leave this important word out.
