Affected Teaching
The final admonition of Jesus on this subject is to
always watch that we do not get snared into the world’s temptations and we are
to pray and seek God to give us the wisdom to avoid those things which could
ensnare a person. The only way a person is accounted worthy is if they are saved
through the grace of God in Christ. We will be here till the last day and will
experience what the world will experience in the realm of natural things when
the Lord begins to wind this world and universe down. The true Christian will
know what is happening and will not be part of all the anxiety and fears which
the rest of the unbelieving word will face. The unbelievers will not be able to
stand before the Lord in the sense that they will be found guilty of their sins
because they have no savior. The true believer will be able to stand because
their sins have been paid for and Christ’s salvation makes them worthy and
accepted because they have already been judged in Christ and found not guilty.
Notice in the CEB that “son of Man” is changed to “the Human One.” The modern
versions place personal strength (man centered) instead of salvation to come
through the end times events in Luke 21. Personal strength will not help since
that will not be able to aid a person in overcoming the judgments to fall.
