Affected Teaching
“and
cleave to his wife” is omitted in the CSB, NASV, NET Version, and the NWT of the
Jehovah’s Witnesses. The AMP, HCSB
and NABRE place it in brackets.
When they omit the part about “cleaving to the wife” it basically make the verse
say that you should leave your mother and father akin to abandoning them.
