“Pontius” omitted
-
-
Here is another one of
those name cutting verses. They omit
“Pontius” which is the first name of the Governor.
- There is no legitimate reason for the removal of the name “Pontius.” It was
probably another effort to continually shorten the Bible by omitting words and
parts of names as the modern versions all do. However, even the removal of one
name constitutes a violation of Revelation 22:19. Revelation 22:19 (KJV) And
if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God
shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and
from the things which are written in this book. It is eternally
dangerous to tamper with the Word of God!
