- Affected Teaching
- The Lord Jesus Christ is telling John specifically that seven
candlesticks which he saw was the seven churches of Revelation. The modern
versions omit “which thou sawest” making that portion of the statement an
open ended statement. Jesus is showing John specifically what He means by
the seven golden candlesticks and what they represent but the modern
versions turn it into a general statement putting the meaning outside of the
vision. John is seeing a specific thing, which is the seven candlesticks
which have a specific meaning, which are the seven churches of Revelation
chapters 2-3.
