- Affected Teaching
- Here is another case of John specifically identifying himself as the one
who is now seeing the New Jerusalem descending from Heaven. John identifies
himself throughout the book of Revelation because it was he that was
commissioned to see these events unfold. His self-identification gives
authenticity and first hand witness to the events in Revelation. The modern
versions omit his name thus making it a very nebulous statement without
identifying the person who is seeing it.
