Counterfeit Versions

(CSB) and was appointed to be the powerful Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead.

(NET) who was appointed the Son-of-God-in-power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

(NIRV) By the Holy Spirit, he was appointed to be the mighty Son of God. God did this by raising him from the dead. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here is another situation where the modern version translators have chosen a word which totally removes truth from this verse. If you notice the King James Bible uses the word “declares” while the modern versions above use the word “appointed” as if Christ was in an inferior position and then appointed to be the Son of God. In the King James Bible and its predecessors Christ was declared to be the Son of God already before he came to earth. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (Galatians 4:4) The modern versions make Christ out to be in some inferior position and then by his resurrection was appointed to be the Son of God. Galatians 4:4 states that he was already the Son of God before he left Heaven. The reason that the modern versions chose the word “appointed” is because of the Greek word “horίzō” pronounced “horidzo” which carries with it the meaning of “declare, appoint, decree, specify.” Instead of them keeping in line with biblical truth concerning Christ they degraded him by having him appointed to Son of God. Modern versions must make changes to get copyrights.

Let’s look at a comparison of Galatians 4:4 with Romans 1:4 in the Christians Standard Bible of 2017:

(Galatians 4:4) When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

(Romans 1:4) and was appointed to be the powerful Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead.

Do you see the corruption? In Galatians 4:4 it states that he was the Son of God and in Romans 1:4 states that he was not and had to be appointed while not stating who appointed him. Once again the modern versions attack Christ and engender confusion.
