Truth Tellers Be Gone

{14} Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. {15} The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. {16} For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:14-16)

For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. (Revelation 9:19)

Another tenet of the times we live in is the absolute rejection of Biblical Truth. Now I am not aiming this study at unbelievers because it is expected that they would be the first to reject any and all biblical truth because they are spiritually dead. This study is directed at today’s nominal Christians who are the first ones in church when the doors open and the first ones to reject biblical truth when confronted with it.

On October 27, 2019 I heard a sermon by Dr. Chuck Baldwin and something he said in the beginning of his sermon hit me like a ton of bricks. I actually felt a jolt when he said it because it hit me that hard. Have you wondered why when you bring truth to Christians along with the backing of Scripture that you are not listened to or are belittled for it? Well worry no more because it is not you it is the Lord himself removing the truth tellers and replacing them with false teachers. Chuck laid out a pretty good message in comparing where ancient Israel was and where the USA is right now. He used Isaiah 9:8-17 but I just posted 3 verses for brevity.

Since ancient Israel was in total apostasy and refused to listen to truth, God was allowing them to be deceived by their own false prophets. God was now taking the truth tellers out of Israel because of their rejection of truth. And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. (Psalm 106:15) Israel had rejected the truth of God and had wanted to go their own way and God gave them their request but sent leanness into their soul. The word “leanness” is the Hebrew word “rāzôn” which carries with it the meaning of “dwindle, waste away to the point of emaciation.” The word does not only mean a physical plague or sickness but carries with it the meaning of a diminished spiritual condition. This is exactly what happened to Israel throughout their history. They loathed the truthful teaching and prophecies of the prophets and did not want to hear anymore from God via his prophets. So God sent the northern ten tribes into captivity with Assyria in 721 B.C. and God sent Judah into captivity in 586 B.C. and finally in 70 A.D. God himself made a complete destruction of the nation of Israel which was a result of their rank hatred of truth which culminated in the hatred of and crucifixion of their own Messiah.

{10} Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: {11} Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. (Isaiah 30:10-11)

In Isaiah 30:10-11, they told the prophets that they did not want to hear about the Holy One of Israel, in other words, they did not want anything to do with God. So the way they dealt with these prophets was to slay them which would permanently shut their mouths and they thought that would solve their problems. What they did not count on was that God was already planning their removal from the land and the final removal in 70 A.D. You cannot rebel against God and think that you will win. This is why the spiritual condition of Israel had totally deteriorated because of their rejection of God and truth and their drift toward false religion and lies.

All of these things were written for the institutional church and the individual Christian to be warned that if they follow in the same mindset as Israel did, there will be grave consequences. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (1 Corinthians 10:11) The word in the Greek behind “ensamples” is the word “tupos” which carries with it the meaning of “model, example, pattern, precedent.” All one has to do is study the Minor Prophets and read how the prophets came to a massively sinning Israel and Judah and warned them of the impending disasters which was to come upon them if they continued to cling to the false religions and reject the truth of God.

Well enter the New Testament Church and we will see the same situation occurring there as it did in Israel. The church has rejected biblically based truth and replaced it with false belief systems and man-centered theology. If you bring the truth about something to a Christian, they will reject it no matter how much Scripture you include. God is now taking the truth tellers out of Christianity and replacing them with false teachers who are running wild in the local church because they now have a free hand.

Before I left Facebook, I had some major discussions about the modern church and its detrimental effect upon Christians and their beliefs. The rebuttal I received was that I should go to Scripture and look at the New Testament churches and how vital they were to the believers. There was the church at Rome, Ephesus, Galatia, Colosse, Philippi, Corinth, Jerusalem, and probably smaller congregations in outlying areas. When we read of these churches that Paul started we read they had taught solid biblical truth so they would have been beneficial to believers especially since the Roman persecutions would begin in a few years. The church at Jerusalem had already experienced persecution by the Jews from the day of Pentecost.

Here is the reality which most Christians neglect. The difference between those churches and the ones today is a matter of rank heresy. Those churches in the Bible were necessary but the ones today are not necessary, in fact, the great majority of them are detrimental to the spiritual life of the Christian. Why do I say that? In contrast to biblical truth, here is what the majority of Christians “choose” to believe.

12. Churches endorsing Sodomy

13. Rapture watching couch potatoes who do nothing

14. Feelings, Emotions, Preferences, and Bias overriding Biblical Truth

15. Pastor worship

16. Pastor doing thinking for entire congregation

17. Celebrity Pastors in media ministries

18. Loss of Salvation

19. Philosophy

20. Psychology

21. You are Good

22. God loves everyone

And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth? (Job 24:25) Just as Job said, prove me wrong I say the same thing, “Prove me wrong” about what I have posted in this study. How can any of those above, when they are all diametrically opposed to Scripture, be helpful to any Christian or any assembly of Christians? You see God is giving the churches their request and sending leanness into their souls. God is giving the Christian their request and sending leanness into their souls. The churches in the Bible never taught the satanic garbage that the modern church believes and teaches. Look at the list and tell me where you find those teachings coming from any of the Bible churches. Mega-churches like Joel Osteen draw 30,000 people every week because as a false teacher he tells them what they want to hear and real churches who bring the truth have 20-30 people in them. So like in Israel, today’s Christians gravitate toward the gospel of health, wealth and personal betterment and do not even concern themselves that they are not growing spiritually or the fact that they are walking against the word of God.

Basically, the church is under the judgment of God and Christians are under his condemnation also, not saying one can lose their salvation but they are under the delusion that false is true and will be as stubborn as ancient Israel was when it comes to rejecting the truth.

{10} And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. {11} And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: {12} That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

While 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 is aimed at unbelievers, nevertheless the principles found in those verses are still applicable to the modern church and Christian, it is a warning that if Christians want to believe what makes them feel good then they too will suffer the leanness that ancient Israel suffered. Right before the LORD judged ancient Israel and Judah, they reached their crescendo of idolatry and animosity toward God. The church is going in the same direction, they are quickly approaching their crescendo of sin and false teachings opposite the word of God and soon God will move on the false churches but how he will do it is up to him. Don’t make the mistake that the God of the New Testament is different than the God of the Old Testament. It was the Lord Jesus Christ himself who commissioned the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. which is during the New Testament time period. So don’t mistakenly think that it is impossible for the Lord to judge harshly the modern church which is already suffering judgment because of the false teachings which pervade the majority of them and the confusing state many Christians are in.

They do not want the true teachings of God, instead they want the false teachers to prophesy things they wanted to hear. There are those who tell the people in false churches what they want to hear and those congregations believe that they are in good with the LORD when in reality they are his enemy. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) The same situation existed in Ancient Israel when they thought that God would not judge them for their sins because they thought they had some kind of special relationship which excluded any judgment. Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. (Psalm 94:7) The church is believing that same lie.

So the next time you are rebuffed by a Christian or a church for bringing the truth, know that they are under a divine delusion that false is true and refuse to believe what the Scriptures teach and that goes back to number 14. So take heart it is not your fault they refuse to listen. They have closed their heart to truth. Their refusal to listen and heed does not exonerate them, in fact, it makes them more culpable. Here are four of the prophets which suffered at the hands of the Jews:

Amos was murdered by the Son Of Amaziah a false priest at Beth-el.

Isaiah was sawed in half by Manasseh the son of Hezekiah

Micah was slain by Joram the son of Ahab

Jeremiah was stoned to death

As you can see people under conviction for their sins would do anything to stop the source of conviction so in ancient Israel they killed you.

Remember why they killed Christ, He told the truth! Why they killed the apostles, because they told the truth! Why Israel killed the prophets, because they told the truth! Why was the apostle Paul persecuted, because he told the truth! Why was Joseph persecuted by his own family, because he told the truth! Nothing has changed, because when you tell the truth today, you receive the same response, even from those who claim to be believers. When a true Christian who believes the Bible rather than spurious teachings is present, the way they kill them is to remove them from the church or group so their convicting biblical teachings will not upset them and they can continue in their blind apostasy.

Summary

The sad reality is that false teachers are more acceptable to the majority of Christians than the true teachers. Since this is the desire of these Christians, God will allow the false teachers to continue their delusion thus putting the Christians at ease. We know this because the majority of churches have false teachers in the pulpits rather than serious students of Scripture. You will be vilified and excoriated by many Christians for bringing the truth and many will not fellowship with you. The Old Testament Prophets lived in secluded surroundings because they were not welcomed among the people and if you bring the truth, you will not be welcomed so if you stand on God’s truth in the scriptures, then you too will spend much time alone. Truth tellers are being extracted from congregations all the time. I experienced it 4 times. That is not because of you, it is because you follow the teachings of Scripture and they don’t, so to them you are a radical trouble maker.

Remember what Ahab said to Elijah. And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? (1 Kings 18:17) Ahab saw Elijah as the one who troubled Israel because Elijah was bringing the word of God to them. Then Elijah answers Ahab in the next verse. And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim. (1 Kings 18:18) Elijah knew that it was Ahab and Jezebel who had troubled Israel because they left off serving the Lord and took up the false religion of Baalim. This is exactly what the churches and many Christians have done, by accepting false teachings like those from the list above, they are in a state of apostasy and when they are challenged with biblical truth, they see the person bringing it as one who troubles them or the church. Continue to stand strong in the true word of God even if means you will be alone for the rest of your life but keep in mind the true life in Heaven will yield all the fellowship we need and that will be for eternity. At the beginning of this study, we had two scriptures: Isaiah 9:14-16 and Revelation 9:19, isn’t it interesting that Isaiah states that the false prophets were the tail and Revelation states that their tail is like a serpent. False prophets and teachings are all of Satan no matter how innocuous they look or sound.
